“ We arrived on a Saturday a few mins after they opened. We got seated right away but the tables were all filled up by 11:30am. As a first timer here, we decided to get the signature beef noodles, with rice noodles. Went on a cold and rainy, and it is absolutely the best suiting food for that weather. The soup was light yet hearty, and the noodles was soft but not soggy. Overall, I would 100% recommend others to check this place out ”
“ Really wanted to swing by due to all the amazing reviews! Heard that rhis place always has long lines but we were seated immediately. There are not many seats inside and we were seated extremely close (basically sitting together almost) with the tables left and right of us. Service was super friendly and we were recommended items as first timers here. We got all the recommended items and they were all so good! ”
“ Very affordable, quick service, comforting food. I ordered the beef mifen noodle, brown sugar rice cake, stir-mixed seaweed, tofu skin salad, and pickled cucumber salad. The seaweed, tofu skin, and pickled cucumber were mixed in one plate which surprisingly turned out great. The actual mixture may not look appetizing but the taste met expectations. The beef mifen noodle was fabulous. I really enjoyed the noodles, and you can customize spice level too -- with either the spices available at the table or when asked how spicy you want the broth. I would happily return here. ”
“ I was in and out during lunch on a Wednesday. At 1 pm I was able to get a table for one and service was quick! Space is small and reminds me of the noodle shops I grew up eating at with my parents. I just got the signature at a medium level spice and it was so good. Chewy noodles, slightly acidic from the pickled vegg, very spice, and so beefy. Hits the spot on a cold day. I devoured the bowl in ten minutes and was out of there to get back to work. ”
“ This is my go to restaurant on Castro St! Between three people, we split a beef offal mifen soup, one pork buns order, and cucumber salad. The soup was filled with great noodles and tender meats. The pork bun was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. This is probably my favorite part of the meal honestly. The cucumber salad had a spicy kick to it accompanied with nuts. I believe all the food came out within 5-7 minutes of ordering. The service is insane. ”
“ 'Twas a frigid and luminescent Thanksgiving day, with but few pho spots open in South Bay. I hankered for hot noodle fun, and found myself in, of all places, Mifen101. The dumplings were plump, beef noodles, in oodles, the service: polite, fast, and light. As with most Asian spots with authenticity in mind, I didn't mind at all that things weren't so kind. With that being said, and all said and done, I'm glad to have eaten at Mifen101. ”
“ This spot is small but efficient, with a quick turnaround. The staff are fast-paced and get the job done. You place your order before being seated, so by the time you sit down, your food arrives quickly. We tried the beef tendon noodle and the beef noodle. The tendon was tender, and the beef was flavorful. We also ordered the beef pancake--my fiancé enjoyed it, though I found it a bit too salty, but that's a matter of personal preference. Overall, it's a great place to grab a quick, authentic Chinese meal. Highly recommend it if you're in the mood for something tasty and traditional! ”
“ Rice noodles are really tasty, same as what i could get in China. What's really impressive was their dumplings with fish filling, so good! Too yummy that I ate before my camera did. Get their dumplings! ”
“ This place is super yummy! Great for spicy Chinese noodles. Seating is quite tight though. Their main item, the spicy beef rice noodles, has an amazing blend of spices and flavors. Mild is enough spice though, medium gets me in the throat. Last time I tried the tomato and fatty beef rice noodles because I wasn't feeling spicy, and it was also delicious and has its own unique blend of flavors. It was a little on the sour side. Their meat buns are super good as well and greta value! Service is very friendly! ”
“ Updating our review a few years later now that we've actually been able to come sit down for dinner! Husband and I ordered the Guizhou Style Spicy Beef Mifen and a regular Beef Mifen. Note that both photos look pretty much the same at first glance. The Guizhou style mifen is almost the same but a tad spicer and much much more sour (that's what the Guizhou style means!). After trying both - I preferred the regular beef mifen since I appreciate more hearty, beefy broth but my husband ended up liking the more sour version in the Guizhou. Both soups were great and the mifen had a nice chewy texture. Inside is a bit smaller and I've seen the lines get quite long outside during peak dinner times so would recommend coming a bit earlier. ”
